# About CV Chap Chap > About CV Chap Chap: an AI CV maker and resume builder made in Africa for job seekers everywhere. Why we built it, what it does and where we are. Canonical: https://www.cvchapchap.com/about CV Chap Chap is an AI CV maker and resume builder that helps job seekers everywhere get a CV that works, without the struggle: easier to make, faster to finish and cheaper to keep. It was founded in 2024 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and is built for phones first. ## Why we built CV Chap Chap A CV decides whether you get a chance to be heard, yet making one is still slow, fiddly and often expensive. We built CV Chap Chap so that anyone with a phone can make a CV that recruiters and hiring software can read, in their own words, at a fair price. ### Easier Most CV tools hand you a blank page and a template to fill in, then leave you to fight fonts, spacing and text boxes. CV Chap Chap asks the questions a good careers adviser would ask, helps with the words, and lays the CV out for you. ### Faster Start from what you already have: a chat with the AI CV Agent, a LinkedIn profile, an old CV in PDF or Word, or a photo of a paper CV. The whole CV appears in a clean design within minutes, and you see all of it before you pay anything. ### Cheaper One payment per CV, with free edits and downloads after it. No trial that turns into a bill every few weeks, and mobile money where cards are rare. The tools that help you get there are free: the preview, the ATS check and cover letters. ## What CV Chap Chap does * [AI CV Agent Writes your CV with you in a chat and aims it at a job advert you paste. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/ai-agent) * [70 CV templates Plain to colourful, with or without a photo, all readable by hiring software. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/cv-templates) * [Free ATS CV checker Scores your CV and lists what hiring software would trip on. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/ats-cv-checker) * [LinkedIn resume builder Turns a LinkedIn profile into a CV you can edit. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/linkedin-resume-builder) * [Free cover letters A cover letter written from the job advert, free to download. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/cover-letter-generator) * [CV examples and guides CV examples for common jobs and CV formats for 17 countries. ](https://www.cvchapchap.com/cv-examples) ## How we work * Our AI uses only what you tell it.
