Position Summary
The Accountantwillclosely with the Financial Controllerand other finance team members to perform a wide range of accounting and financialresponsibilities while ensuring compliance with Tanzanian statutory and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing all Bureau Veritas statutory obligations in Tanzania, including submissions through TRA online portals.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions in accordance with company procedures and accounting standards.
Ensuring compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations, including: Value Added Tax (VAT)Withholding Tax Instalment Tax Pay As You Earn (PAYE)City Levy National Social Security Fund (NSSF)Skills Development Levy (SDL)Workers Compensation Fund (WCF)

Liaising with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies during audits and compliance reviews.
Preparing monthly tax reports and ensuring timely statutory compliance.
Conducting monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews with Business Unit Managers.
Identifying financial risks, discrepancies, and operational weaknesses while recommending corrective actions.
Performing quarterly tax health checks and supporting the Chief Accountant during audits.
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Maintaining both physical and digital records of financial documents.
Managing BRELA registrations and other statutory registration requirements.
Supporting debt collection activities and accounts receivable reconciliations.
Performing any other duties assigned by the Finance.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
CPA (T) certification recognized by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
Experience
Minimum of2–5 yearsof relevant accounting experience.
Required Skills & Competencies
The ideal candidate should have:
Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, financial regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software such as: Quick Books Tally Sage ERP systems
