How to write a CV for employers in Burundi
Many of the best-paid roles in Burundi are with NGOs, UN agencies and regional organisations, and they shortlist English CVs against the job description. Local employers mostly advertise in French on Burundian job sites.
These are common practice, not rules. When an advert asks for something different, follow the advert.

- 1 to 2 pages; international NGOs often accept 2 to 3 for experienced staff.
- Photo
- Common on local CVs; usually left off for international NGO applications.
- Languages
- State your level in Kirundi, French, English and Swahili clearly.
- Referees
- 2 to 3, with organisation, email and phone.

A note on language
