The rules we both agree to.

These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and CV Chap Chap, the business that operates cvchapchap.com from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean CV Chap Chap, and “you” means the person using the service.

By creating an account, building a CV, making a payment or otherwise using the platform, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

You agree to contract with us electronically. Under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2015, clicking a button that says you accept, completing a payment, or continuing to use the service after being shown these terms has the same legal effect as a signature.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement and explains how we handle your personal data.

• You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
• You must give accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
• One person, one account. Do not share your login, and do not let anyone else use your account.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it.

We may refuse, suspend or close an account where these conditions are not met, or where the account is used in breach of these terms.

CV Chap Chap gives you tools to prepare your own job application documents:

• professionally designed CV templates you fill in yourself
• AI suggestions for summaries, job descriptions and skills, based on what you type
• a cover letter generator
• an ATS CV checker that scores your document and suggests improvements
• PDF generation and download
• a jobs board, employer job posting and an affiliate programme

We improve the platform continuously, so features may change, be added or be withdrawn. We will not remove something you have already paid for without either delivering it or refunding the affected fee.

Building, editing and previewing your CV is free. Cover letters and the ATS CV checker are free. Browsing and applying for jobs is free.

You pay a one-off fee to download your CV as a PDF. The exact amount in your currency is shown to you at checkout before you pay, and the price you are shown is the price you pay. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

• Once a CV is paid for, you can edit it and download it again as many times as you like at no extra cost.
• Prices include any applicable taxes unless we state otherwise at checkout.
• We may change prices at any time. A change never affects a payment you have already made.
• Promotional or launch pricing is limited, may be withdrawn at any time, and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Payments are processed by licensed third-party providers, using mobile money, USSD or card. We do not receive or store your full card number, your card security code or your mobile money PIN.

• By paying, you confirm that the phone number, wallet or card you use belongs to you or that you are authorised to use it.
• Your download unlocks when the payment provider confirms the payment, not when you send it.
• Mobile money confirmations can be delayed by the network. We reconcile pending payments automatically.

If you are charged more than once for the same CV, we refund the duplicate. If a payment fails, no fee is due and any amount taken is returned by the provider.

A CV is a personalised digital file delivered to you immediately. You agree that delivery begins as soon as your payment is confirmed and, to the extent the law allows, that you give up any right to cancel once the file has been delivered.

When we do refund

Ask within 7 days of the payment and we will refund you in any of these cases:

• you were charged more than once for the same CV
• your payment succeeded but the download never unlocked and we could not fix it
• you were charged in error by us or by a payment provider
• the file was corrupted or unusable and we could not supply a working replacement

When we do not refund

• you changed your mind, or you prefer a different template (you can switch template and download again at no extra cost)
• you made a mistake in your own content (you can edit and download the same CV again for free)
• you did not get an interview or a job, which is never something we can promise

How to request one

Email support@cvchapchap.com with the phone number used, the amount, the date and the transaction reference. We reply within 7 working days. Approved refunds are returned to the number or instrument that paid, normally within 14 working days, though mobile money reversal times depend on the provider. Nothing here limits any refund right you have under the consumer protection law of your own country.

You own everything you write. We do not claim ownership of your CV, your cover letter or anything else you put into the platform.

You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty free licence to host, store, copy, display and process your content for one purpose only: running the service for you. That covers rendering your preview, generating your PDF, backing it up and emailing it to you. The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies in routine backups that are overwritten on the normal cycle.

You confirm that:

• the information in your CV is true and is yours to submit
• you have permission from any referee whose name and contact details you include
• your content does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trade mark or other rights
• your content is not unlawful, defamatory, obscene or discriminatory

Our AI features produce suggestions from what you type. They are a starting point, not a finished document, and they are not professional career, legal or immigration advice.

• Read, edit and verify every line before you send your CV anywhere. You are responsible for the final document.
• AI output can be inaccurate, generic or out of date. We do not warrant its accuracy or suitability.
• We design our AI not to invent facts or numbers about you. Anything specific must come from you.
• Fair use limits apply. We may rate limit, restrict or block automated or excessive use of AI features.

The ATS CV checker is an indicative guide only. No tool can guarantee how a particular employer’s system will read or rank a file.

The platform, including its software, designs, templates, text, images and the CV Chap Chap name and logo, belongs to us or is licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use our templates to prepare job application documents. If you prepare CVs for other people, you may do so provided each document is paid for and you have that person’s permission to handle their information, for which you are responsible.

You may not:

• resell, redistribute, sub-license or publish our templates as templates
• use our templates or content to build or train a competing product or service
• copy, scrape or systematically download the platform, the template library or the jobs board
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive our source code, except where the law expressly allows it
• remove or obscure our branding or any notice of ownership

Fonts embedded in the PDFs we generate are supplied under open font licences and remain subject to those licences.

If you believe something on the platform infringes your rights, email info@cvchapchap.comwith the material, where it appears, and proof of your rights. We investigate and remove infringing material.

You agree not to:

• use the service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• impersonate another person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection to one
• upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data
• probe, scan or test the security of the platform without our written permission
• use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the service, or place unreasonable load on it
• collect other users’ personal data, or contact them without their agreement
• post discriminatory, harassing or hateful content
• use the jobs board to advertise anything other than a genuine vacancy, or to run any recruitment scam

Serious misuse can also be a criminal offence, including under the Cybercrimes Act, 2015. We report criminal conduct to the appropriate authority.

Listings come from employers with an account and from publicly available advertisements we curate. We publish them as a free service to job seekers.

• We are not the employer. We are not a recruitment or employment agency, and we are not a party to any application, interview, offer or employment contract between you and an employer.
• We do not verify every employer or every listing, and we do not guarantee that a vacancy is current, accurate or genuine.
• Applications are usually made on the employer’s own site or by email. Once you leave our platform, their terms and privacy notice apply.
• Listings can expire, be filled or be withdrawn without notice. We may edit or remove any listing at any time.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for the accuracy of a listing, the conduct of an employer, or the outcome of any application.

These additional terms apply to employer accounts.

• You confirm that you are authorised to post on behalf of the organisation you name.
• Every listing must be a genuine, current vacancy with accurate details.
• Listings must comply with employment and anti-discrimination law, and must not exclude applicants on any protected ground.
• You must not require any payment from an applicant, and you must not post multi-level marketing, pyramid or pay-to-start schemes.
• You must handle applicant data lawfully, use it only for the vacancy advertised, keep it secure, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
• You are responsible for your listing content and you indemnify us against claims arising from it.

We may edit, reject or remove any listing, and suspend any employer account, where these rules are broken or where we reasonably suspect a scam. Job posting is currently offered at no charge. If we introduce paid employer products, the price and the specific terms will be shown to you before you buy.

If you join our affiliate programme, the programme terms shown to you at registration apply in addition to these terms and form part of this agreement. In summary:

• commission is earned on paid CVs bought through your referral link, at the rate published on the programme page
• a referral click is attributed for 30 days
• commission is credited only for payments a provider confirms, and every sale and payout is reviewed by a person
• a withdrawal requires a minimum number of confirmed sales and a minimum balance, both shown on your dashboard
• payouts are made to your mobile money number after approval
• self-referrals, fake accounts, misleading promises about the service, or any other fraud means commission is forfeited and the account is suspended

We may change the commission rate or the programme rules with notice on the programme page. A change never affects commission already confirmed.

We work to keep the platform available and fast, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, network outages, provider failures and events outside our control can interrupt it.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service. Where a change materially affects a paid feature and we cannot deliver what you paid for, we refund the affected fee.

Keep your own copy of any CV that matters to you. Do not treat CV Chap Chap as your only storage.

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing support@cvchapchap.com.

We may suspend or close your account where you breach these terms, where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or where we are legally required to. We give you notice and a chance to put things right where it is practicable to do so, and act immediately only where the breach is serious or the law requires it.

When an account closes, your access ends, but any CV you already paid for and downloaded remains yours to use. We keep the records we are required by law to keep, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

• We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free.
• We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment or any other outcome from using a CV made with our tools.
• We do not guarantee that a CV will pass any particular applicant tracking system or satisfy any particular employer.
• We do not verify employers or listings on the jobs board.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the consumer protection law of Tanzania, or of your own country, that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss
• we are not liable for lost profit, lost opportunity, a lost job or offer, lost data, or loss of goodwill or reputation
• we are not liable for the acts or omissions of an employer, a payment provider, a network operator or any other third party

Our total liability to you for all claims arising in any 12 month period is limited to the greater of the total amount you paid us in that period and TZS 50,000.

This limit reflects the nature of the service: it is free to build with, and the download fee is deliberately small.

You agree to indemnify us against reasonable losses, damages and costs we suffer from a third-party claim arising out of your content, your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your handling of another person’s data through your account.

We will tell you promptly about any such claim, will not settle it without your consent (which you will not unreasonably withhold), and will take reasonable steps to keep the loss down. You may take over the defence of the claim with our written agreement.

The platform relies on third parties for hosting, payments, email and AI, and links out to employer sites and other resources. We are not responsible for the content, terms or practices of any third party, and a link is not an endorsement. Where a third party’s terms apply to you directly, such as a payment provider’s, you should read them.

We give you notices by email, SMS or WhatsApp using the details on your account, or by posting a notice on the site. It is your responsibility to keep those details current.

You give us formal notice by emailing info@cvchapchap.com, or by writing to CV Chap Chap, Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania.

Talk to us first. Most problems are a payment that stalled or a download that did not unlock, and we fix those quickly. Email support@cvchapchap.com with the details. We acknowledge within 7 working days and aim to resolve the matter within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve it, either of us may refer the dispute to the courts of the United Republic of Tanzania. We may instead agree in writing to settle it by arbitration under the Arbitration Act, 2020, seated in Dar es Salaam, before a single arbitrator.

If you are a consumer outside Tanzania, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to conflict of law rules, subject to the mandatory consumer protections described above.

Entire agreement

These terms, the Privacy Policy and any programme terms you accept form the whole agreement between us on this subject, and replace anything said earlier.

Severability

If a provision is found to be unenforceable, it is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.

No waiver

If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.

Assignment

You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business, on notice to you and without reducing your rights.

No partnership

Nothing here creates a partnership, agency, employment or joint venture between us.

Force majeure

Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by an event beyond reasonable control, including network or power failure, provider outage, natural disaster, civil unrest or government action.

Language

The English version of these terms governs. Any Swahili or other translation is provided for convenience only.

We may update these terms as the service and the law change. The current version is always on this page with its effective date.

Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give notice by email or a clear notice on the site at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires it sooner. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.
