Title Automotive Mechanic Job Description An Automotive Mechanic performs routine maintenance and repairs on, diagnoses mechanical and electrical faults, and ensures allmeets safety and manufacturer standards. They use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and technical manuals to identify and resolve vehicle issues. Key Responsibilities Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical problems. Diagnose engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical system faults. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts and components. Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation. Use computerized diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation. Follow workplace safety procedures and environmental regulations. Explain repair recommendations and maintenance requirements to customers when necessary. Skills Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques. Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment. Good problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and teamwork skills. Time management and organizational skills. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate or diploma in Automotive Mechanics or a related field is preferred.
