Business Development Officer II (Project Management)

Job Purpose
To support the preparation, coordination, and implementation of strategic projects across the Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries sectors by ensuring effective project appraisal, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and compliance. The role also promotes climate-smart practices while enhancing the productivity, resilience, and competitiveness of financed project beneficiaries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, coordination, and implementation of strategic projects across the Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries sectors, including the design, piloting, and rollout of interventions tailored to diverse clients and value chain actors.
Participate in project appraisals, feasibility studies, and due diligence processes for proposed and ongoing projects.
Collect, validate, and analyze project data, and prepare regular progress reports highlighting achievements, risks, lessons learned, and recommendations to support monitoring and evaluation.
Liaise with and provide operational support to internal teams, government agencies, private sector partners, Development(DFIs), consultants, and vendors to ensure effective project coordination.
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building programs for financed project beneficiaries.
Contribute to the mainstreaming of climate-smart and sustainable practices, while supporting initiatives that improve productivity, resilience, market access, and competitiveness of financed project beneficiaries.
Identify risks and challenges affecting project implementation and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with TADB policies, development finance standards, and environmental and social safeguards, while maintaining accurate project documentation, records, and databases for accountability and institutional learning.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Aquaculture, Finance, Accounts, Banking and Finance, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Knowledge of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic, Marine Biology, or Environmental Managementwill be an added advantage.
Knowledge of fish stock dynamics, breeding cycles, and aquatic ecology to support data-driven decision-making.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial information and financial statements.
Ability to evaluate credit application proposals.
Good sales and business development skills.
