Position Details Position: Cashier Reports To: Supervisor / Operations Working Hours: 6 days per week, 8 hours per day. Supermarket operates 365 days a year from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cashiers must report 15–30 minutes before their scheduled shift. Job Purpose Provide excellent customer service, accurately process transactions, maintain cleanliness and merchandising standards, and support daily store operations. Key Responsibilities Greet, assist, and serve customers professionally. Promote products, special offers, and upsell where appropriate. Maintain knowledge of product locations, prices, and promotions. Process cash, card, and mobile money payments accurately. Reconcile cash and sales at the end of each shift. Participate in cleaning before opening and maintain cleanliness throughout the day. Organize and straighten shelves and ensure products are properly displayed and priced. Assist with stock replenishment and stock counts. Follow company policies and uphold Simara’s values of Quality, Timeliness, Affordability, Trust, and Respect. Recent graduates and candidates with limited work experience are also considered. Good communication skills in Swahili and English.
