Justdiggit is seeking a motivatedMonitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Young Professionalto support the development and implementation of MEL frameworks,collection, reporting, and learning processes for its programmes in Tanzania.
Position Summary
This role is designed for arecent graduate or early-career professionalinterested in environmental restoration, data analysis, and measuring programme impact.
The successful candidate will work with experienced MEL and landscape restoration professionals to support:
Programme monitoring
collection and management
Reporting
Learning activities
Field assessments
Restoration monitoring initiatives across Northern and Central Tanzania
The position provides mentorship and practical experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning within an international environmental organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Field Monitoring, Planning and Data Collection
Participate in field monitoring visits with colleagues, partners, and local communities.
Support monitoring of restoration interventions including:Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)Rainwater harvestingRangeland restoration

Rangeland restoration
Assist with collection, verification, and management of programme data.
Monitor ecological indicators such as:Vegetation coverNatural regenerationBiomassSoil and water conditionsLand productivity
Vegetation cover
Natural regeneration
Biomass
Soil and water conditions
Land productivity
Support:Baseline assessmentsPeriodic evaluationsField surveysContext analyses
Baseline assessments
Periodic evaluations
Field surveys
Context analyses
Assist in using basic GIS and geospatial tools for mapping restoration activities.
Support planning of field-level MEL activities.
2. Data Management, Quality Assurance and Reporting
Conduct routine data-quality checks.
Support digital data collection using MEL tools.
Help organize data for:ReportsLearning materialsProgramme evaluations
Reports
Learning materials
Programme evaluations
Maintain MEL databases and documentation.
Review data from partners to support timely donor reporting.
Contribute to report writing and documentation.
3. Capacity Building and Learning
Participate in partner training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Qualifications Required
Applicants should have aBachelor’s degreein one of the following fields:
Monitoring and Evaluation
Forestry
Natural Resource Management
Environmental
Agriculture
Ecology
Rangeland Management
Geography
Development Studies
Related fields
Master’s degree is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Experience Requirements
Recent graduate or candidate with up to2 years of relevant experience.
Internship, volunteer, or research experience in areas such as:Monitoring and EvaluationEnvironmental conservationCommunity developmentRelated fields

Community development
will be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
Required skills include:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong Excel skills.
Basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Familiarity with digital data collection tools such as:KoboToolboxODK

Basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as:RPythonSPSS
