Job Purpose
The Medical Doctor strengthens CCBRT’s clinical division by examining, diagnosing, and treating patients in both Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) departments. This general practitioner role involves running scheduled clinics, admitting ward patients, preparing operation lists, performing minor surgical procedures, assisting senior surgeons during complex operations, and participating in shift and weekend on-call coverage.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties
Patient Care & Outpatient/Inpatient Management:
Run scheduled outpatient clinics, conduct preliminary screening, and manage routine and emergency patient admissions.
Conduct regular ward rounds, monitor patient recovery progress, and update Senior Medical Doctors/Specialists on patient conditions prior to discharge.
Surgical Support & Clinical Procedures:
Perform minor surgical procedures under established clinical guidelines.
Assist Senior Medical Officers and Specialist Surgeons during major surgical and obstetric operations.
Participate in community outreach clinical programs and mobile screening campaigns as required.
Clinical Governance & Shift Coverage:
Prepare daily/weekly operation lists and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
Work flexibly on rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency on-call duties.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Required Education & Registrations:
Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized university /institution.
Academic Threshold: Minimum GPA of 2.7 at the undergraduate level.
Internship: Successful completion of a 1-year medical internship.
Medical Board Registration: Mandatory registration with the Tanganyika Medical Council (MCT) as a Medical Doctor.
Licensure: Valid 2026 Medical Practitioner License .
Experience & Attributes:
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of post-internship clinical experience with a reputable hospital or healthcare organization.
Tech Skills: Fully computer literate with experience in hospital management information systems.
Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili .
Personal Competencies: Client-focused team player, proactive work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to thrive under pressure.
