The successful candidate will ensure that all construction activities comply with local environmental regulations, international environmental standards, and the project-specificEnvironmental Management Plan (EMP). Key Responsibilities The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for: Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on-site. Conducting regular environmental audits covering:Noise controlDust suppressionWaste managementSpill preventionWater runoff management Noise control Dust suppression Waste management Spill prevention Water runoff management Acting as the main liaison between the project and:Local environmental authoritiesRegulatory bodiesCommunity representatives Local environmental authorities Regulatory bodies Community representatives Preparing:Environmental compliance reportsEnvironmental incident investigation reportsSustainability documentation Environmental compliance reports Environmental incident investigation reports Sustainability documentation Providing environmental awareness training and toolbox talks to site personnel. Qualifications & Requirements Applicants must have: Bachelor’s Degree in:Environmental ScienceEnvironmental EngineeringEnvironmental ManagementRelated field Environmental Science Environmental Engineering Environmental Management Related field Experience serving as anEnvironmental Expert or Environmental Specialist on at least one airport construction project within the last 10 years. Strong knowledge of:Local environmental legislationEnvironmental Impact Assessment (EIA) frameworksInternational environmental standards, including ISO 14001 Local environmental legislation Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) frameworks International environmental standards, including ISO 14001 Professional certification in environmental management or auditing will be an added advantage.
