Senior Accountant at Active Mama – October 2026 Active Mama is seeking a qualified, highly motivated Senior Accountant to oversee financial management, record-keeping, and reporting operations for the organization in Mafia, Tanzania. Job Overview Employer: Active Mama Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Mafia, Tanzania Job Type: Full-Time Application Deadline: October 30, 2026 Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning & Reporting Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Lead budget preparation, forecasting, and financial variance analysis to support business decisions. Manage daily accounting transactions, general ledger reconciliation, and cash flow operations. 2. Compliance, Taxation & Auditing Ensure compliance with Tanzanian statutory tax laws (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax) and regulatory filings. Coordinate internal and external audit processes, preparing necessary schedules and documentation. Maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies. 3. Payroll & Vendor Management Process employee payrolls accurately and on schedule, ensuring timely remittance of statutory contributions. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, maintaining accurate vendor and client records. Key Qualifications & Experience 1. Education & Professional Certification Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance , or a related field from a recognized university. Professional accounting qualification (CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable. 2. Experience & Skills Relevant accounting experience in a senior or supervisory financial capacity. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills. Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
