Job Vacancy: Software Engineer Computer Centre Tanzania Position: Software Engineer Application Method: Email Application Role Summary Computer Centre Tanzania is looking for a motivated Software Engineerwith strong Linux expertise to design, develop, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot secure, reliable, and scalable software systems. The successful candidate willclosely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services. Develop and optimize applications for Linux-based environments. Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following softwarebest practices. Develop shell scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency. Monitor application performance and resolve software and system issues. Collaborate with Dev Ops, Quality Assurance (QA), and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployments. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Manage source code using Git and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes. Implement security best practices for Linux systems and applications. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend system improvements where appropriate. Key Deliverables Develop and maintain reliable, high-quality software applications. Optimize applications for Linux environments. Automate operational tasks using scripts and automation tools. Support software deployments using Git and CI/CD pipelines. Monitor application performance and resolve issues efficiently. Improve system security, scalability, and operational efficiency. Qualifications & Requirements Applicants should possess: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum3 years of experiencein software development. Strong Linux system administration skills. Proficiency in at least one programming language and Bash/Shell scripting.
