The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation and process-control systems while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Comply with Barrick’s health, safety, and environmental policies and applicable regulations. Report all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) incidents and issues. Conduct daily maintenance inspections and maintenance activities on plant equipment. Complete maintenance work documentation according to established procedures. Maintain plant equipment in accordance with company operating policies and SOPs. Follow isolation and lockout permit procedures. Maintain adequate stock of instrumentation components, including:Pressure sensorsTemperature sensorsValvesFlow meters Pressure sensors Temperature sensors Valves Flow meters Troubleshoot process-control problems and resolve engineering issues. Maintain high housekeeping standards and apply the5S principle. Identify plant defects and required maintenance. Understand plant operations and control philosophy. Report safety hazards and equipment defects to the supervisor. Monitor and maintain flow, feed processes, and water quality. Inspect, test, adjust, calibrate, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems. Record calibration activities, components used, and parts inventory. Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, electronic, andPLC systems. Interpret engineering specifications, schematics, drawings, and blueprints. Conduct proper shift handovers. Identify plant performance deviations and take corrective action. Complete assigned projects accurately and within required timelines. Maintain equipment and work areas according to engineering and housekeeping standards. Educational Qualifications Applicants must have: Degree or Diplomain:ElectronicsElectrical EngineeringInstrumentationIndustrial Automation Electronics Electrical Engineering Instrumentation Industrial Automation Instrumentation Trade Test Certificate Experience Required Minimum2 years of post-Trade Test experience. Technical Skills & Competencies Candidates should have knowledge or experience in: SCADA system diagnostics Allen Bradley PLC maintenance and installation Siemens PLC maintenance and installation Industrial field instrumentation fault finding Ethernet networks, including wired and wireless networks Process control systems Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Soft starters Industrial plant maintenance Mills Crushers Conveyors Compressors Pumps CIL tanks Electrical, pneumatic, and electronic instrumentation Equipment safety standards Technical drawings and manuals Hazard identification and risk assessment Additional Requirements VETA Driving Certificate. Valid Tanzanian driving licence coveringClass B, C, D and E. Ability to drive a manual/stick-shift vehicle. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Candidate Profile This is aspecialized industrial instrumentation role, so the strongest candidates will have a combination offormal instrumentation/electrical/electronics training, a Trade Test certificate, and at least two years of practical post-Trade Test experience. The most important technical requirements arePLC systems, SCADA, industrial instrumentation, process control, fault finding, and plant maintenance. The requirement for aVETA Driving Certificate and Class B, C, D and E Tanzanian driving licenceis also important.
