Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Company: NRG Media Tanzania Limited t/a PLAY Location: Dar es Salaam Reports to: General Manager Role Summary PLAY Tanzania is looking for a strong and commercially minded Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day finance function and support management with accurate financial information and practical financial advice. The successful candidate must be confident in accounting fundamentals, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and explaining numbers clearly to non-finance managers. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. Analyse revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and financial performance. Present financial reports to management and explain key variances, risks and trends. Prepare and monitor budgets and Budget vs Actual reports. Manage accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations and approved payments. Maintain strong financial controls and proper supporting documentation. Support payroll processing in coordination with HR. Ensure timely compliance with TRA, NSSF, WCF and other statutory requirements. Support audits and maintain accurate financial records. Advise management on financial planning, costs, risks and business decisions. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field. CPA, ACCA or equivalent is an added advantage. Minimum 4 years’ relevant accounting experience . Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Excel and accounting systems. Good understanding of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements. Experience preparing and presenting management reports. Key Qualities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Confident answering financial questions and advising management. Able to explain numbers clearly to non-finance colleagues. Commercially aware and comfortable working with senior management. High integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. Proactive, accountable and able to work independently.
