The role involves monitoring application performance, resolving user issues, coordinating with development teams, maintaining system security, and ensuring a reliable and seamless mobile money experience for customers. Key Responsibilities 1. M-PESA System Management Manage and support the M-PESA core system. Monitor the performance and availability of M-PESA mobile applications onAndroid and iOS. Respond to and resolve user-reported issues, application crashes, and bugs in a timely manner. Monitor application analytics and crash reports usingFirebaseor similar tools. 2. Incident, Problem & Change Management Manage system incidents, problems, and changes. Coordinate incident and change processes with internal and external stakeholders, including M-PESA platform stakeholders. Ensure timely resolution and appropriate escalation of system issues. 3. System Security Maintain and support M-PESA system security. Apply appropriate mobile security best practices. Monitor and address security-related issues affecting the applications and supporting systems. 4. Business Continuity SupportBusiness Continuity Management (BCM)activities for M-PESA systems. Contribute to the availability and resilience of critical M-PESA services. 5. Mini App Development & Support Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of M-PESA Mini Apps. Provide technical support for Mini App-related initiatives. 6. Projects & Product Support Provide technical support for M-PESA projects, including bothMPA and local projects. Support M-PESA products and related digital channels. Work closely with relevant technical and business teams to ensure successful implementation and operation of M-PESA services. Required Technical Knowledge & Experience Candidates should have knowledge and experience in: Unix Linux, including RHEL and SUSE Windows Relational Database Management Systems, including:OracleGaussDBMySQL Oracle GaussDB MySQL Mobile security best practices Android and iOS platforms Mobile application architecture APIs M-PESA or mobile money platforms System administration and application support Incident, problem, and change management Business continuity Qualifications Bachelor’s degree inComputer Scienceor an equivalent qualification. Strong stakeholder relationship management skills. Understanding of mobile money platforms, particularlyM-PESA, is highly desirable.
