It operates as a Class B licensed microfinance institution in accordance with the Microfinance Act No. 10 of 2018 and the Co-operative Societies Act, Cap 211. Job Purpose The System Programming and Database Officer I will manage and support databases, information systems, and software applications by ensuringdata accuracy, system reliability, security, and effective technology solutionsthat improve operational efficiency and support business decision-making. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and secure databases, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery. Design, develop, and maintain databases, applications, scripts, and system components. Develop, customize, test, deploy, and maintain secure web-based and desktop applications. Support system integration and troubleshootand application issues. Implement appropriate information security controls. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Applicants must have: ABachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma with Upper Second Class or abovein:Information TechnologyComputer ScienceInformation SystemsComputer EngineeringSoftware Engineeringor another ICT-related discipline from a recognized institution. Information Technology Computer Science Information Systems Computer Engineering Software Engineering or another ICT-related discipline from a recognized institution. At least4 years of relevant work experience. Additional Qualifications Possession of any of the following certifications will be an added advantage: CCNA CISSP CEH CISM OCA CISA CompTIA Security Other relevant ICT certifications. Knowledge and proficiency in programming languages such asC, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Gowill also be an added advantage. Candidates should have a strong understanding of: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Database administration Software engineering System architecture Skills and Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Good organizational and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and quality. High level of integrity. Good business acumen.
