Job Details Job Purpose The Head of SME Banking will lead thegrowth, profitability, and strategic developmentof the Bank’s SME and Micro Business Banking portfolio. The role focuses on: SME business development. Lending and product development. Customer acquisition and retention. Growth of business deposits. Portfolio and credit-risk management. SME advisory and financial solutions. Sales and marketing strategy. Leadership and development of SME banking teams. Key Responsibilities 1. SME Banking Strategy Develop and execute the Bank’s SME Banking strategy. Grow SME customer accounts and business deposits. Identify new SME market opportunities and growth sectors. 2. SME Lending & Product Development Develop and manage SME lending products, including:Working capital loans.Business expansion loans. Working capital loans. Business expansion loans. Develop the Bank’sSME and Micro Lending Policy. Strengthen SME advisory and financial solutions. 3. Portfolio & Risk Management Oversee the SME lending portfolio. Ensure sustainable portfolio growth and asset quality. Monitor portfolio performance. Develop strategies to reduceNon-Performing Loans (NPLs). Work closely with Risk and Credit teams to ensure responsible lending. Identify higher- and lower-risk market segments. Support branches in recovery of SME and Micro Banking clients. 4. Customer Acquisition & Retention Develop strategies to acquire and retain SME customers. Build strong relationships with SME clients and business communities. Increase product penetration and market share. 5. Sales & Marketing Lead sales and marketing strategies for SME and Micro products. Increase awareness of SME banking products. Monitor competitor products and offerings. Identify opportunities to expand the Bank’s product range. 6. Team Leadership Lead and develop SME Relationship Managers and Business Bankers. Support branch teams in SME customer acquisition and relationship management. Coach and mentor high-performing teams. Ensure teams have the skills required to achieve business targets. 7. Service Quality Maintain high service standards throughQuality Assurance and Control. Ensure efficient service delivery and achievement of business objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree in:CommerceBankingFinanceMarketingBusiness Administration Commerce Banking Finance Marketing Business Administration Postgraduate Degree in Commerce, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent — mandatory. Experience 5–7 years’ experiencein a financial institution or FMCG. At least3 years at Senior Managerial Level. Experience managingSME or Corporate Banking portfolios. Key Skills SME Lending Management. SME Product Development and Advisory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong selling and networking abilities. Managerial and leadership experience. Proven ability to lead large teams. Ability to interact effectively at different organizational levels. Strong innovation and creativity. Ideal Candidate Profile This is asenior-level banking position. The strongest candidate would have: Significant SME or Corporate Banking experience. At least3 years in a senior managerial role. Experience developing SME lending products and policies. Strong understanding of credit and portfolio risk. Proven ability to grow SME deposits, lending and market share. Experience leading large sales/relationship-management teams. Amandatory postgraduate qualificationin the specified fields.
