How to write a CV for employers in Eswatini
Government posts are declared by ministries to the Civil Service Commission, which advertises them in the media and calls shortlisted people to interview, where you bring your original certificates. Private employers and NGOs advertise on Jobs Eswatini and in the Times of Eswatini and the Eswatini Observer.
These are common practice, not rules. When an advert asks for something different, follow the advert.
- Language
- English, an official language of Eswatini alongside siSwati.
- Order
- Most recent first: a short profile, work experience, education, then skills.
- Contact
- A working number with +268, a professional email and your town. Government shortlists are announced by phone, newspaper and radio, so keep the number current.
- School results
- Your Form 5 certificate: EGCSE (formerly SGCSE) or IGCSE. List the Junior Certificate only if it is your highest school certificate.
- The old name
- Certificates from before April 2018 say Swaziland. Write a qualification's name as it appears on the certificate, and Eswatini for your address.
- Government posts
- The Civil Service Commission asks for a CV with certified copies of your academic certificates, ID and birth certificate.
- Teaching posts
- The Teaching Service Commission asks for certified copies of your ID, birth certificate and qualifications, a medical report and passport-size photos.
