How every US resume example is built
The same six parts, in this order, on one page of US Letter. The US resume format guide explains margins, fonts and file names.
1. Name and contact line
Phone, email, city and state (Austin, TX) and a LinkedIn link. No street address, photo, date of birth or marital status.
2. Summary
Two or three lines with no I or me: what you do, your years, your strongest skills and the job you want next.
3. Experience
Latest job first: title, employer, city and state, month and year. Three to five bullet points that start with a verb and say what you did, how much and for whom.
4. Education
Degree or diploma, school and year. Students and new graduates put it above experience.
5. Certifications and licenses
Nursing licenses, CNA registry, teaching certificates, PMP: the exact name and the issuer, so screening software finds them.
6. Skills
The tools and skills the posting names and you can prove, using its words. No rating bars.

Resume examples, answered
A good resume example is one page on US Letter, with a short summary, your jobs newest first with bullet points that start with a verb, and only skills and certifications you can prove. It is written for one kind of job, not every job.
Use it as a guide, not a copy. Recruiters see the same sample lines many times, and a copied resume falls apart at the interview. Keep the structure and write your own duties, numbers and dates.
One page for most US jobs. Two pages are fine once you have more than about seven years of relevant experience; academic CVs for faculty and research jobs have no limit.
See the US resume formatNo. US employers do not expect a photo, and leaving it off is the standard, along with your date of birth and marital status. Every example here has no photo.
Lead with education, then school projects, volunteering, part-time and summer work, with real duties for each. The new grad nurse example shows the shape: education first, clinical experience as jobs.
See the new grad nurse exampleNo. Every person, employer, phone number and email in these resume examples is fictional, written to show what strong resume lines look like. Resumes people build on CV Chap Chap are private.
